Fly Eye

This morning, the garden was particularly beautiful.

Fortunately, I had my camera in hand.

These were shot with a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens. It is an awesome piece of glass. Serves very well as a macro lens, for taking portraits, and as a general purpose fixed length lens.

Do you use a special macro lens for the plant and insects close ups ?

Wow! The first macro with the insect is stunning!

And I may be coughing up for a Rebel sooner than expected. Abbey apparently dragged my camera through her sandbox and pretty much killed the thing. Nothing like breaking your sole camera 5 weeks before the next child arrives!

Amazing shot of the insect–the eye color is stunning.

I’m very happy with my Rebel-XT…I may have to pick up that macro lens as well…
